The first match of 2000 was played on 22th of October in India where India won by 13 runs at the Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium where Zaheer Khan was declared man of the match for his excellent 3/37. Then on 26 Oct 2000 India again won by 3 wickets at the Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium inspite of some excellent batting by Alistair Campbell who scored an unbeaten 105 for his team. These were followed by continous victories by India on 2nd and 5th of December 2000 at the Barabati Stadium, Cuttack and the Sardar Patel Stadium, Ahmedabad. Then on 8th of December 2000 Zimbabwe finally was able to win the match by 1 wicket at Barkatullah Khan Stadium, Jodhpur because of some excellent all round performance by Grant Flower and excellent figures of 3/43 & 70.

India continued the winning streak against Zimbawe in India’s home grounds by winning on 11th, 14th, and 24th and 27th of December 2000 with excellent all round performances by Sourav Ganguly (IND), 5/34 & 71, Ajit Agarka, 67 not out & 3/26, Sachin Tendulkar 70 not out and Rahul Dravid 72 not out respectively.

Finally on 7th of March 2002 Zimbabwe was able to beat India by 1 wicket at the Nahar Singh Stadium, Faridabad when Dougie Marillier played exceptionally well and gave good batting and bowling figures of 1/53 & 56 not out. After winning on 10th of March 2002 India again lost to Zimbabwe on 13th of March by 6 wickets at the Nehru Stadium, Kochi due to some excellent bowling by Douglas Hondo. In spite of the loss on 16th of March 2002 India mended its ways and defeated zimbawe by 5 wickets at Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium where Yuvraj Singh scored 80 runs, which was followed by another 101 run victory over Zimbabwe on 19th of March 2002.

India even won the champions trophy match on 14th of September 2002 and a world cup match on the 19th of Feb 2003. These were followed by victories on the 14th, 20th, 24th and 3rd of Jan 2004 by 7 wickets, 24 runs, 3 runs and 4 wickets respectively.

On 29th of August 2005 India was again able to defeat zimbawe by 161 runs at the Harare Sports Club where Irfan Pathan for his 5/27 was declared man of the match which was followed by another 4 wickets win on 4th of September 2005 at the Harare Sports Club where Yuvraj Singh was declared man of the match for his excellent 120.

Then after a gap of nearly 5 years India toured Zimbabwe in 28th of May 2010 Zimbabwe was able to beat India by 6 wickets at the Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo where Brendan Taylor for his 81 was given the man of the match. This victory was followed by another victory where on 3rd of June 2010 Zimbabwe again beat India by 7 wickets because of some excellent batting by Taylor at Harare Sports Club for which he was again given the man of the match.

Then in 24th of July 2013 during Indias tour to Zimbawe India won by 6 wickets again at the Harare Sports Club where Virat Kohli for his 115 was given the man of the match, followed by consecutive victories on the 26th, 28th of July and 1st and 3rd of August by excellent gameplay by Shikhar Dhawan (116), and excellent bowling by Amit Mishra 4/47 and 6/48.

On 14th of March 2015 during the World Cup Clash India again beat Zimbawe by 6 wickets at Eden Park, Auckland due to an excellent unbeaten 110 by Suresh Raina.

On 10th of July 2015 in a close match India was able to beat Zimbawe by 4 runs again at the Harare Sports Club because of Ambati Rayudu’s unbeaten 124. Which were followed by 67 runs and 83 run victories over Zimbabwe on the 12th of July 2015 where Murali Vijay (IND) was declared man of the match for his 72 and on the 14th of July 2015 where the new comer Kedar Jadhav was declared man of the match for his unbeaten 105.

Now its 2016 and another tournament has just begun and looking at the history this tournament should prove to be another cake walk for team India.
